So I took a trip last spring, somewhat spontaneously, and drove “home” from Boise, Idaho, which is actually where I live now. Home for me is New England, and mostly Vermont and New Hampshire these days, but anyway, I got in the car on a Friday morning and was in Norwich, Vermont having dinner by 7:00 PM on Sunday evening.  

When it was time to head back, I had a friend suggest that I add Sedona, Arizona to my trip “on the way back.” If you glance at a map, you will see that Sedona is not at all “on the way” back from Vermont, but it made for a pretty cool adjustment to the trip. When I got there, it was extremely hot, but the colors that I saw literally everywhere I looked were extremely cool!!
